Webinar and Ask the Expert series: IP financing policies: What are they about?

Submitted by Efua Halm on

A policy in general, in a company, institution or even a State, is a deliberate system of guidelines put in place to guide decisions and achieve certain targeted outcomes. It is thus, a statement of intent and once finalised, is implemented in the entity, as a procedure or protocol.

An IP policy, therefore, is set up to guide an entity on how to create, use and/or disseminate its intellectual property and is created to provide certainty in individual and institutional rights that are associated with the ownership and distribution of benefits emanating from the formation of intellectual property.

In the somewhat uncharted, yet fast-growing territory of IP financing, the associated policies may be somewhat blurred.

What ought to be included in an IP financing policy? And most importantly, why?

Join us in our 4th session in our webinar series to discuss and understand the intricacies of this type of policy for your entity, with our expert, Dr. Krissada Jutimongkonkul.
