The Cell for IPR Promotion and Management, under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, India, has launched Orange Minds, a lecture series to strengthen students' awareness and understanding of intellectual property rights. The series is inspired by the Orange Economy, which is driven by creativity, culture, innovation, and intellectual property. It seeks to encourage students to recognise the value of protecting their ideas and transforming them into drivers of innovation and national growth.
The first phase of the series began on March 16 and includes six sessions scheduled through March and April at leading institutions in Delhi. These institutions include the Campus Law Centre at the University of Delhi, the National Institute of Fashion Technology, and the National Law University Delhi. Each session features distinguished speakers from industry and the legal fraternity.
The session on March 16 was held at the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, and focused on the power of intellectual property enforcement. The session on March 18 took place at the National Institute of Fashion Technology and addressed issues of counterfeits, copycats, and intellectual property law in the fashion industry. On March 24, a session at National Law University Delhi explored the protection of music copyright in a digital world. Another session at National Law University Delhi on March 27 examined anti-counterfeiting tactics involving law and brands. An upcoming session on April 7 at the National Institute of Fashion Technology will cover how to turn creativity into commercial success. The final session on April 10 at the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, will address the regulation of green claims at the intersection of advertising law, consumer protection, and intellectual property.
