Data retrieval directly from the patent authority (national patent registers) is often needed when issuing authorities have limited coverage within INPADOC (legal status and patent family information). Such is the case for patent offices in Syria and Saudi Arabia.
From the Search Patents menu of the Syrian Patent Office, you will be directed to the Arabic patent search form with options for a quick or an advanced search (queries should be entered in arabic). Search results are displayed in a list that includes patent title and inventor name for each result (10 results per page).
The King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology(KACST) patent search for Saudi Arabia can be performed either in English or Arabic and results appear in a hit list of 30 results per page, including basic bibliographic data and status. You can select the invention title to view the full record, displaying bibliographic data and an abstract (when available). More details at Intellogist website.
