“Let’s Talk IP” is a year-long monthly Intellectual Property (IP) awareness and capacity-building initiative launched by the Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST), Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat, in collaboration with the National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM), Intellectual Property Office, Government of India.
The initiative aims to educate, engage, and empower students, faculty members, researchers, innovators, startups, and entrepreneurs by enhancing their understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and their role in innovation, entrepreneurship, and national development. Aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the programme seeks to foster a strong culture of innovation, protection of ideas, and responsible commercialization of intellectual assets.
Conducted in hybrid mode, “Let’s Talk IP” is held every second Wednesday of the month and features expert-led talks, practical insights, and interactive discussions on diverse IP themes including patents, designs, trademarks, copyrights, geographical indications, and emerging IP issues. Each session brings together leading IP professionals, policymakers, academicians, and industry experts to share real-world perspectives and best practices.
Through its extensive network of IP Cells and IP & Innovation Labs across Gujarat, the programme enables wide outreach, ensuring sustained engagement with youth and academic institutions. Participants receive joint e-certification, reinforcing structured learning and continuous capacity building.
“Let’s Talk IP” serves as a strategic platform to inspire innovation, strengthen IP literacy, and empower the next generation to transform ideas into protected and impactful intellectual assets for a self-reliant and knowledge-driven India.
